Take a virtual lunchbreak and explore this question with Lanie Cohen, Keshet's Community Mobilization Manager. This important conversation coincides with The Vilna's participation in Keshet's Boston Shivyon Cohort, helping us work towards a more inclusive community, at The Vilna and beyond.

About Lanie Cohen

Lanie is a strategic thinker, experienced advocate, and feminist killjoy who lives life with a deep commitment to tikkun olam. She brings her passion for community-building and intersectional analysis to her role as Community Mobilization Manager. Lanie believes that having hope for a better world is a revolutionary act in the greater fight for social justice, which attracted her to be involved in the essential work done at Keshet.

Lanie is from Chicagoland (Highland Park) and attended the University of Denver where she earned her degrees in Gender and Women’s Studies and Strategic Communications with a minor in Intercultural Global Studies. In college, she facilitated trainings on gender violence prevention and most recently worked for the Colorado House Majority Leader to move progressive policy through the state legislature, such as the Reproductive Health Equity Act.

Lanie lives in New York City and spends their free time walking and biking, saying positive affirmations to her plant babies, and strategizing how she will travel the entire globe in this lifetime.
