ANNELIES based on “The Diary of Anne Frank”

Vilna partners with the Boston Chorale Ensemble to present the area debut of Annelies, composed by James Whitbourn. This full-length choral work is based on The Diary of Anne Frank, with a libretto by Melanie Challenger, and brings to life her words in a “beautiful and restrained treatment.” The Friday evening performance will incorporate some Shabbat ritual.

A complimentary guided tour of the Vilna and its history will run approximately 45 minutes before the start of the program. 

BCE is an auditioned 40-voice chamber choir under the leadership of Dr. Andrew Shenton. Boston Choral Ensemble’s mission is to create, preserve, and promote engaging musical experiences. BCE envisions envision a richer and more diverse choral scene in Greater Boston and beyond.
