SHOLOM ALEICHEM, a dramatic reading by Alvin Aronson who takes on the persona of the well-known Yiddish author Sholom Aleichem, comes alive for two shows at the Vilna Shul, 18 Phillips Street, on Sunday June 27 2010, at 2:00 and 4:00PM.

Mr. Aronson, an author, playwright, and actor working in both Yiddish and English, has performed with Geraldine Page in Tennessee Williams’ off-Broadway “Summer and Smoke” and wrote “The Pocket Watch” which had a two year run off-Broadway.

The well known “Fiddler on the Roof” musical is based on one of Sholom Aleichem’s stories “Tevye’s Daughters.”

Mr. Aronson has toured the stories of SHOLOM ALEICHEM for several years in many synagogues and college Hillels in both Boston and Israel.

The Vilna Shul is to be Boston’s foremost living Jewish historical center and our mission is to preserve the Vilna Shul and perpetuate and enduring Jewish Identity in Boston.
